Wimbledon garden

Location: Wimbledon
Site Description: A Medium size garden with a pottery studio at the end. The garden has been neglected for a long time and the client want to create a contemporary one
The Brief: The client gave a full reign to design a modern and stylish paradise where they could display their artwork
The design process: The garden has three sections, the first one near the glass extension which is slightly sunken and pea gravel was used as a surface. the second part is the lawan area and the third near the pottery studio a self binding gravel one. Inspired by Japanese garden , the garden consist of a series of stepping stones made of slate palisade that  travel the whole garden with sinuous curves and ending in the pottery studio. A water feature designed by the client himself made of corten steel is the main focal point of the garden. On the far end a japanese rock feature was built in the middle to create a second focal point in the end of the garden. In the borders chimneys and client artwork are displayed around the lush planting.
Major Hard landscape material: Corten steel, gravel, artificial lawn and slate palisades
Major soft landscape materials: Trachycarpus fortunei, Acacia delbata, Alemanchier lamarchii.
Final result: A modern garden unified by one single concept, using lush planting and display the beautiful clients artwork
